Playoff qualification and Seeding

The following system will be used to determine seeding for Sunday's games as follows:

Group Play games will not end in a tie.  Penalty kicks will follow immediately (3 vs. 3, then 1 vs. 1) to determine a winner.

Each team will play two group play games on Saturday and one or two group play games on Sunday.

Forfeits = 6-0 win 

Men's  Open

Top 2 teams from each group advance to Flight 1 playoffs.  Seed 1 and 2 get a bye to the semi finals.  Seeds 3 to 6 play-off to qualify for semi finals of Flight 1.

Bottom 2 teams from each group advance to Flight 2 playoffs.  Seed 7 & 8 get a by to the semi finals. Seeds 9 to 12 play-off to qualify for semi finals of Flight 2.

Men's B

8 teams (2 groups of 4) - 3 Group Play games.  Group A winner plays Group B #4, Group B winner play Group A #4, Group A #2 plays Group B #3, Group B #2 plays Groups A #3.

Men's Over 30

10 teams (3 groups).  3 Group play games.  Groups B and C will play cross-division (i.e. All B teams will play all C teams).  Group winners are seeded #1, #2, #3.  Seeds #9 and #10 are eliminated after group play.  8 teams play quarterfinals on Sunday. If possible, we will try to avoid teams playing the same team they played in group play, if possible.  If Team #9 and Team #10 agree, they will play a consolation game on Sunday at 1pm on Field #2.

Men's Over 40

8 teams (2 groups of 4) - 3 Group Play games.  Group A winner plays Group B #4, Group B winner play Group A #4, Group A #2 plays Group B #3, Group B #2 plays Groups A #3.

Men's Over 48

6 teams (2 groups of 3). 3 Group Play Games.  Group winners receive byes to semi finals.  Group A #2 plays Group B#3 and Group B #2 plays Group A #3 in quarterfinal playoff to advance to semifinals.

Womens

6 teams (2 groups of 3). 3 Group Play Games cross-division (i.e. All Group A teams will play All Group B teams).  Group winners receive byes to semi finals.  Group A #2 plays Group A#3 and Group B #2 plays Group B #3 in quarterfinal playoff to advance to semifinals.

Coed  

6 teams (2 groups of 3). 3 Group Play Games cross-division (i.e. All Group A teams will play All Group B teams).  Group winners receive byes to semi finals.  Group A #2 plays Group A#3 and Group B #2 plays Group B #3 in quarterfinal playoff to advance to semifinals.

Tie breaking procedures to determine qualification and seedings

If teams are tied with the same record; the following procedure is followed to break the tie, to determine seeding for the second day of play.

  1. Head to Head if applicable
  2. Total Wins
  3. If teams are still tied in the standings then the following tiebreakers will apply.
  4. Goal differential.  Maximum of 6 goals plus per game (i.e. 10 to 2 win is a maximum of +6 or same as a 8 to 2 win).
  5. Goals For
  6. Goals Against
  7. Penatly Kicks if two teams tied
  8. Draw lots

SUNDAY

Winners for games ending in ties on Sunday will be determined by a penalty kick shootout (3 vs. 3, then 1 vs. 1).
